This past weekend was FABULOUS! I’m so thankful for my family and friends who always make my birthday feel so special 🙂

The Sagamore Resort

I stayed at The Sagamore Resort in Lake George, NY and it was everything I wanted it to be. First off the weekend didn’t call for great weather, a late season snow storm was in the forecast. Saturday ended up being cold but SUNNY, same with Sunday morning. I didn’t care if it was cold, but if I had sun to look over the gorgeous lake with, then I was a going to be a happy girl. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

It was my second time staying overnight at The Sagamore and it was an amazing time to enjoy the scenery and dining experience that it offers. I figured it would be good to list the three reasons why it’s a great place to stay while visiting the historic area of Lake George, NY.

The View

There is no other view of the lake like the view from The Sagamore. It sits on a corner in the middle of the 32 mile-long lake overlooking the south end. With the Adirondack Mountains marking either side of the lake, it is one of the most breathtaking and peaceful sites in the world.  Take your cocktail out to the dock to enjoy or relax in the Adirondack style chairs around the sprawling lawn. At every spot on the lawn is a wonderful vantage point of the deep blue water and green mountains 🙂

The History

The Sagamore Resort opened in 1883, therefore it offers over 100 years of history on one small island. Throughout it’s renovations during the 1930s and 1980s, it has seen Presidents, Celebrities and Wealthy Families among it’s guests. It’s been featured on morning news shows like Good Morning America and The Today Show. The Lake George area and the resort have made numerous travel and vacation lists around the country.

The Hospitality

If you want to treat yourself to some luxury, this is the place to do it! Every time I have visited The Sagamore whether it be for a happy hour or a special occasion, they have been welcoming. On my recent trip they upgraded me and my guests to a lake view room, which was a nice surprise. The decor and atmosphere lends itself to an upscale experience with it’s accommodations, restaurants, bars and spa. They have a golf course and tennis courts for the sports enthusiast as well as various events for children. La Bella Vita gives a fine dining experience and Caldwell’s Bar offers an extensive menu of upscale drinks. I love the unique feeling The Sagamore leaves you with after your stay.

The summer months are prime time, but the off season offers an unforgettable experience as well!
