Top Things To Do in Barcelona

I have a new and fun european destination to talk about today! I loved my stop in Barcelona a few years ago and I can’t wait to get back to Spain to explore more of it’s amazing sights.

Here are my top things to do in Barcelona and I apologize ahead of time for not taking better pictures during college. Hey I was enjoying the experience 😉

Explore Las Ramblas

The Las Ramblas area was hands down my favorite. It’s a great promenade lined with shops, markets, restaurants with outdoor seating and street performers. You could spend a morning/afternoon shopping, eating and exploring, or if you are like me, dancing with the locals 😉

Have a Sangria and Paella Siesta

While you are checking out Las Ramblas you could take a siesta and regain your energy with some delicious sangria and paella. I loved how they bring it right out on a skillet. My friends and I shared this huge yummy dish with equally gigantic glasses of sangria, I don’t know which part I loved more. I can’t remember the name of the specific place we ate at but it was one of the places towards the end of Las Ramblas.

Like I said, sorry for the awful photos, but I want to show how big the paella was!

Bike Around the Harbor and Beaches

To work off the sangria and paella, it’s totally worth renting a bike and exploring the picturesque beaches and harbor that Barcelona has to offer. There are tons of restaurants and bars along the harbor area if you skipped your chance at a siesta earlier. Biking was a great way to cover more distance of the city and to check out other areas if you only have a short amount of time.

Go to a Flamingo Dancing Show

This may not be high on some peoples list but I really enjoyed watching all the talented dancers showcase their Spanish culture through dance. The music and their costumes were exciting and they even had audience members get up and learn some traditional moves during our show. I recommend seeing one if you are into live shows or come from a dance background because it was a lot of fun.

I highly recommend planning a visit to this gorgeous seaside city, it had even more to often than what I mentioned in this post. Leave a comment if you have some other must-dos in Barcelona!
