The spring is a great time to start planning summer vacations. When I think of summer vacation, I think of road trips!
Here are 5 places in the USA to road trip to this summer:
Nashville offers music, food and history all wrapped up in a fast growing city. It’s the perfect destination for a southern road trip. Check out my Ultimate Guide to Nashville.
Hang out all day and watch live music in every bar on Broadway.
Nashville’s food scene is on fire right now! Every neighborhood has delicious food so you can’t go wrong if you are looking for something yummy on your trip. Save room for dessert!
Book tickets to listen to some of country music’s biggest stars on the most storied stage.
Looking for a beach vibe and some fresh lobster?! Kennebunkport is your destination in the Northeast.
Stay in one of the many B&B’s in this quaint New England town. Enjoy shopping at the weekly farmer’s market and listening to live music during the Kennebunkport Summer Concert Series in the Downtown Plaza.
Fill up on fresh lobster rolls and fries at Mabel’s Lobster Claw at least once a day during your stay ;-).
Zion National Park, Utah
Looking for activity when arriving at your destination?! Then Zion National Park in Utah might be the place for you.
You can hike, bike, kayak, tube and climb while enjoying the beautiful colors of the canyons.
If camping isn’t your style or you need to recharge from all the hiking in a more comfortable atmosphere, you can always check out and stay in a hotel in nearby Springdale, Utah.
Los Angeles, California
The ultimate road trip in the USA of course is New York to LA or vice versa (it was an amazing/tough 9 days when I did it). No matter if you want to take two weeks to get there, or if you want to drive straight to LA, this destination is jam packed with things to do.
Hike and/or visit the landmark’s like Griffith Park.
Hang out on the beach in Malibu or Venice.
If you are traveling with kids, check out Universal Studios and the new Harry Potter World.
And let’s not forgot about the food…or dessert 🙂
Yellowstone National Park
Established as the world’s first national park in 1872, Yellowstone offers a unique setting of American history.
Yellowstone is the perfect summer destination to relax and recharge while exploring sights like Old Faithful or Yellowstone Lake.
While camping out in Yellowstone you can enjoy boating, fishing and hiking in the parks designated areas. It’s a great place the whole family can enjoy.
Half the fun is the road trip and half the fun is the destination 🙂
