Since I spent the week in Lake George, NY last week, I thought today I would give a few recommendations on different spots to stop and eat at.
Adirondack Brewery & Pub
The ADK Pub has the added bonus of the brewery right down the street from the restaurant where you can take tours Tuesday, Friday & Saturday. They have an authentic adirondack theme through out the pub, with a pretty big deck with woods chairs and tables. They are conveniently located in the heart of the village and offer great pub food. I recommend the Tuscan Sandwich!
The Boathouse is more upscale and is located on the way to Bolton Landing from the Village of Lake George. It boasts amazing views no matter where you sit, with a two-level outdoor bar and deck and a gazebo that fits a few tables. Recently I was lucky to come by the gazebo seating on a beautiful Friday night, which gave the best views while eating yummy seafood. They have a lighter fare menu too, with sandwiches and salads, which I think puts that at a reasonable price. They also have the best white sangria I’ve ever had, in my opinion. Great place to take the family and you can’t beat that view!
Cate’s Italian Garden
I can’t believe I can’t find any pictures of my delicious Italian dinners I have had from Cate’s through out the years. Their pizza is great, their pasta primavera is great and so is their tortellini. I love the atmosphere of their garden seating close to the side walk where you can watch all the summer visitors in Bolton Landing stroll by on a nice night. It is a little further up from the Village of Lake George, but Bolton Landing is worth the visit since there is more to do around that area.
Honorable Mention: Martha’s Ice Cream
I’ve mentioned Martha’s before a few times but I will list it here as well because they have the best soft serve ice cream with in the area. It’s located near the Great Escape off exit 19 on I-87. It has been featured on the Today Show and usually has some long lines from the park visitors. Their chocolate peanut butter twist is worth the wait though 🙂
If you are a Northeast resident, Lake George is always worth the drive. Even if you live around the country or the world, it’s a 3 & 1/2 hr drive up from NYC and I highly recommend it in the summer time! Check out my prior posts about the area
