Happy Friday Friends!
This week was a little weird to get through. I can’t put my finger on whether it was the start to the week with the horrific events in Las Vegas, an amazing musical talent leaving this world or that I took a red eye over the weekend back from Seattle. I’ve got to stop booking those lol. It hit me yesterday, I just felt off.
Anyone else out there feel that way? I do want to say I’m praying for all those affected by Sunday’s tragedy. I truly have no other words about it. Being mindful and having gratitude for the blessings in my life is something I strive to practice each day in my own way. It’s the best way I can get through these weird weeks.
I like to focus on the positive though on this space and I have some things that made me really happy and/or excited this week:
Brene Brown Ted talk
After reading Brene Brown’s Rising Strong last year, I’ve been intrigued with her work. I forgot how I came across her TedTalk this week but I think things come to you when you need them most. Like I said above, it was a weird week. However, Brene’s TedTalk spoke to me because she literally says in the talk, everything boils down to connection in life. Seeking connection, feeling connected and vulnerability is the key too that.
I won’t get into my personal relationship with connection, but I definitely think about this concept all the time. I think it’s important to strengthen real connections in your every day life. Even social ones can be important too! (Shout out to the blogging community!!) If you are a Brene fan or looking for something meaningful to listen to today, then check out her TedTalk on vulnerability!
Seattle as my 35th state
You guys Seattle is awesome! I’m sure some of you already know that if you live there or have visited, but seriously, I was impressed! The scenery, the food, the vibe, I liked it all! Check back Monday for my post on how to spend 3 days in Seattle.
On a side note, I’m so happy to have added 5 new states in one year to my quest to visit all 50. I definitely didn’t plan that at the beginning of the year. I try to seize as many opportunities I can in life and I’m thankful that has led me to see so much of this beautiful country.
Outfits of the Week
I was thrilled Seattle was going to be warm and sunny and not the usual dreary rain you hear about. So I kept some of my summer items out for the trip.
Kendra Scott Forever
You guys know I’m a HUGE Kendra Scott fan at this point, especially after listening to her podcast. I left the store with these Kendra Scott Lee small earrings, which I’ve been wearing all week! I love her stuff because they go with so many outfits/pieces I already have!
24 Hours in Burlington
In case you missed my weekending post on Monday, I recapped how to spend 24 awesome hours in the adorable small New England city of Burlington, Vermont. I already want to go back for more maple syrup 🙂
I hope everyone enjoys their fall weekend 🙂
