Happy Friday Friends!
This whole week was a favorite due to the Super Bowl. I’m still riding the high, so don’t be surprised by my first favorite.
If I lose some of you here, I swear I have 2 non-Patriots related favorites 🙂
New England Patriots Super Bowl Win
My post on Monday explains how I’m a Patriost fan and my initial reaction to the win. My parents were super lucky to be at the game and my mom was snapchatting us all the exciting things all game long. I’m so jealous they got to be there for the confetti falling. It’s still on my bucket list to go to a Super Bowl.
Thankful my grandfather, dad and uncle bought season tickets in the early 90s. I’ve been going to games and training camps since I was a little girl. My childhood and early adulthood has been filled with crazy family filled Patriots Super Bowl parties that I wouldn’t change for the world.
My Pats Ladies 🙂
My paint and sip picture I painted last week of Brady for my aunt and uncle! He’s been our mascot for 9 years!
It was a rollercoaster of a night and I’ll spare you all the crazy we went through. However, nothing beats dancing with my family when we finally win 🙂
There he is! TB12 #GOAT
I promised myself two years ago that if the Patriots ever won another Super Bowl I would make it to the parade. I had never been to a Boston championship parade before and boy was it amazingly crazy! My sister, her boyfriend, his brother and our brother drove to Boston early Tuesday morning to get a spot along Boylston. We wanted to celebrate with the team in person. The weather was horrible but it added to the atmosphere I thought. I took some video of the players but not that many pictures because my hands felt like they would fall off from the rain and cold. I also wanted to live in the moment as much as possible because it went so quick.
I had to get a picture of the guy who won us Super Bowl 49. I could relive that moment over and over again.
Die hard fans!
Can’t believe we have 5! and that I have all my fingers still.
We were at the beginning of the parade which worked out nicely. After they passed us we walked back past Fenway to Wahlburger’s to warm up and eat. It was so fun to watch the rest of the parade on the TV’s with other Pats fans who were at the parade too.
The Saratoga Chowderfest is an annual winter event where all the local restaurants compete for the title of best chowder in the city of Saratoga Springs. People can walk from place to place, pay $1 and get a little cup of chowder. Then they can cast their votes for their 5 favorites on a ballot and turn it in to the city. It’s become a huge social event and the lines have doubled in the past two years, but some of the chowders are worth it. Pulled pork clam chowder from Hattie’s anyone?!
Excuse the crazy in this picture, my best friend Mal and I were over the cold and long lines. These were the only two pictures I managed to take lol.
BBQ Chicken Bowl/Taco Mix
I decided to combine two Mix & Match Mama recipes for dinner last night. I had tortillas to use up and I can’t eat avocado (insert sad face here), so I combined Shay’s BBQ Chicken Rice Bowl & BBQ Chicken Tacos. It was so yummy! The bbq chicken slow cooked in Dr. Pepper with bbq sauce really added to the flavor. Super quick to throw together too!
My second visit to Wahlburger’s was better than the first! (this was a favorite back in the summer too) I know there are many great places to eat a burger in Boston, but I highly recommend stopping by if you are visiting. I don’t know if its the atmosphere, because I’ve been there twice for sports related reasons, or if it’s the burgers are justthat yummy. I got Donnie’s Fav this time around and it was a delicious BBQ avocado burger. You also can’t forget to order a side of tater tots!
Whew what a week! I will remember this one for a long time.
I hope everyone has a great weekend 🙂
