Oh no September already?!

I can’t believe it’s here. The weather in Upstate New York already feels like fall, which makes me a little sad. I’m happy it’s Labor Day weekend though and I will be soaking up the last bits of summer at the lake! This past week was pretty crazy, I made my first trip to Buffalo, NY and then headed to NYC for one of my LA friends’ birthday. It was such a fun night and a definite favorite. Let’s get to the rest of them!

Buffalo/Niagara Falls

Shockingly as a New Yorker, I had never been to Niagara Falls before this past weekend.  I was visiting, and received, the full Buffalo experience, minus the wings unfortunately #notenoughtime. I was able to get out on beautiful Lake Erie and the canals, which by the way, who knew Buffalo was such a hot boating destination?! I will do a recap soon of some of the fun and delicious food spots that I crammed into 48 hours.

The falls were absolutely beautiful though. The whole weekend was a picture perfect weather weekend, which really highlighted everything this part of western New York. The falls were the pinnacle. I was so happy I got to see a rainbow too! (Check out my instagram for the pic) It was my 3rd natural wonder of the world and it was just as amazing as the others!

Oh and as for Tim Horton’s, I’m still a DUNKIN DONUTS girl 😉

North River Lobster Co

Are you heading to NYC soon?! If so you need to check out North River Lobster Co.!

I headed to NYC Monday night to celebrate my friend Stacey’s 30 birthday, who was in town from LA. She had heard about this cruise boat that for $10 takes you on an hour cruise up the Hudson River from the west side. It’s basically a restaurant on a boat with a heavy seafood menu. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious! There are no tickets, it’s first come first serve and the boat holds about 450 people. You want to get there before the departure time so that you are sure you get on. We arrived about an hour before the last departure time and had no problem. TIP: If you get seasick easily, this may not be for you. You can eat/order drinks before departure but it was kind of rocky so I could see someone getting sick from that. Overall it was a great experience and you can make it as cheap as just the $10 fee to sit.

What’s Up Wednesday

I can’t believe how quick one of my favorite linkups comes every month. It was time for another edition of What’s Up Wednesday if you missed what I’ve been up to lately. Like I said, I’m hoping to post my weekend recaps of Buffalo and Portland/Portsmouth in the upcoming weeks!

Portland, ME

Spa Wellington

This is for all my local girls out there! I have gone to Whitney, who is now at this beautiful salon in Albany, NY, since the end of college. She is great with layers and a master colorist! I wanted to give her some love because she really is the sweetest!

Travel Hair Dryer

Speaking of travel and hair, I’ve been trying to find a travel hair dryer that is lightweight and gets the job done (I have a lot of hair!). Do you ladies have any recommendations?! I’m interested in these two off of amazon:

BaByliss Pro Travel DryerMHD Professional Travel Size

I hope every gets out there and enjoys their Labor Day weekend!

I love Niagra Falls and glad you loved it too!
I’ve never really been to lake Erie but it is a big boating community up there. My husband boats there every year.

Yay for seeing a rainbow! If you have not gotten there, you must go over to the Canadian side. I ended up falling in love with it even more. Have a beautiful, long weekend!

My hubby and I were in Buffalo once for a Bills game. We drove over to the Canada side of the falls but only just drove by. We were so young, so I didn’t have a “plan”. Now if we did that, we would’ve definitely spent the whole day and actually got out of the car and walked around! I guess we will just have to go again sometime. 🙂

That’s great you got to see Niagara Falls. I’d love to visit sometime! I actually love the fall – but I get what it’s not always the most fun season for people. lol

I so need to get to New York sometime and Niagra Falls! I love seeing all the different places folks visit through reading blogs. It inspires me to want to get off the farm more once our kids are a little more grown! 🙂
