I am really enjoying this late summer heat in the Northeast. I’ve made every effort to spend as much time outside as possible since #WinterIsComing seems to be popping up everywhere, giving me nightmares lol. It honestly felt like a summer week with swimming in the lake & pool one last time, kayaking and late sunsets. Ugh I never want it to end. I have plans to full enjoy the 80 degree temps this weekend so stay tuned on Instagram!
I’m also super excited to be heading to Seattle next week!! It’ll be my first time in the Pacific Northwest which is an area I’ve longed to explore. If you have any must-dos let me know in the comments or send me an email at amanda at cupcakendreams dot com!
Ok on to the favorites from this week:
Hidden Brain Podcast
As I said last week, I’ve been queuing up some podcasts for my drives to my improv theater. I came across NPR’s Hidden Brain podcast after loving NPR’s How I Built This series. I especially enjoyed the episodes called You 2.0, which focus on reinventing yourself. I always find this topic fascinating and the episodes are only about 30 mins long which mean they are too the point and easy to digest on a short commute.
Portland, ME & Portsmouth NH Weekend Guide
I posted my weekend guide to Portland & Portsmouth this week. Here is the link in case you missed it! There is still time to book a trip to see these beautiful spots in person. I’m sure they are even better in the fall.
I’m starting to get into the fall decor after seeing the pumpkins and flowers at all my local stores. I’ve been enjoying all the fall home tours from my favorite bloggers and the way they chose to decor their homes during this season!
In lieu of a OOTD favorite this week (I just forgot to take a picture) I figured I’d share some shoes I have my eye on lately.
I cannot wait to try on these flats in pink when they arrive from Nordstrom this weekend! I had my eye on a few other styles as well in case these don’t work out.
Tasty-Chicken Pesto Bake
I’ve always been obsessed with the Tasty Buzzfeed videos and I’m back to trying different ones out. This week I tried the Chicken Pesto bake out of the 4 ways to bake chicken. This recipe came out delicious and fan favorite with the BF. It was super simple to make too if you need a dinner under 30 mins with low prep.
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
