Friday Favorites of the Year!-12.30.16

I can’t believe it’s the last Friday of 2016!

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and I was going to recap my December Goals this week but I’ll save them for sometime next week. I’m still enjoying some of them since it’s still December. I’m definitely one of those people who relishes this down time during the last few days of December. I’ll start regrouping with everything on Jan 1st, well 2nd this year since I have a New Years Eve wedding that I’ll be recovering from 😉

Here are some of my favorites of 2016!!

Paris/Switerzland

One Year ago today I arrived in Paris for my second trip to the City of Light. This time around was more special than my first visit because I flew there with my sister, who was in the middle of being an Au Pair for a year. She had two adorable families with two kiddos each to take care of and they were so freaking cute. I couldn’t wait to meet them after FaceTiming with them for a few months.

My first visit to Paris was during the spring time a few years earlier and it was a gorgeous time to see Paris. I went around and visited all the tourist spots. This time I got to see Paris through the eyes of the French. I’ll have a post about my second trip next month!

It was amazing to be there through the New Year and see all the holiday decorations and be under the Effiel Tower’s gaze when the clock struck midnight. We left for both our first trips to Switzerland the next day, which was beautiful in its own right, even though it rained a lot. I’ll recap that trip next month too!

I can’t believe I started 2016 in France and it’s already coming to an end tomorrow 🙁

Twins

Welcoming twins into the family this year, even though they arrived just two weeks ago, has been so fun! It’s special to see two little babies together and I can’t wait to watch the boys grow up. My cousin and her husband are already rockstars with them!

Favorite Concerts

This year was full of awesome concerts by my favorite artists. Some I’ve seen before in LA and some were for the first time around my hometown area, which was extra special.

Mumford and Sons had to be the most exciting since they played at SPAC and the seats were amazing, thanks to my brother. I begged him to try and see if he could get tickets for them this summer since they are one of my favorite bands and he use to work for them. Success! Thanks Vin 😉

The Lumineers were my second favorite because their concert was so intimate at the Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown, NY. It rained a little but stopped at the end long enough for them to shoot off fireworks at the end of the show. It was magical 🙂

Beyonce is always Beyonce but her Lemonade album was another level and her concert was a grand showing of all her amazing talents.

Zac Brown Band is always a favorite because I usual go with a lot of my family. They did not disappoint this year. They played all my favorite songs in one set, so therefore it was my favorite ZBB concert ever and I’ve been close to 8 times.

It was my first time seeing Carrie Underwood in October in Albany, NY and she was amazing. Her voice is so strong and I loved all her outfits. She was on my list of artists to see live and I’m so happy I got to cross her off the list.

Nashville

In July, I headed to Nashville for the second time but it was way more special since it was with my parents, siblings and my uncle’s family.

Visiting Opryland, The Ryman Auditorium and seeing a show at the Grand Ole Opry was something I’ve always wanted to do. Going out on Broadway on a Saturday night and listening to all the country music at the different bars with my brother, sister and cousin Tori is a memory I’ll cherish forever.

My friends visiting New York

Two of my very good friends who I met when I studied abroad in Australia finally saw my hometown area this summer. I had been to their events and weddings in Fargo, ND and Minneapolis, MN many times and they wanted to return the favor and check out what Upstate New York has to offer.

Saratoga Race Track
It was a special weekend in August that I’m so grateful for. I was happy to take them to the Saratoga Race TrackLake George and the Sagamore Resort during their stay. Friends make life so much sweeter 🙂

It was an amazing year and I’m looking forward to an even better 2017!

I hope you all have a healthy and happy New Year, see you in 2017!!
