I can feel it already. These next few weekends are going to fly by just like this one did.
Before I talk about the weekend, I want to remind all of you that I’ll be hosting my first giveaway starting this Friday! It’s my first holiday season as a blogger and I want to spread the cheer and show my appreciation to all those that have been reading this blog this year. I’ll be giving away two gift cards to two of my favorite places for my travel and lifestyle needs. So check back Friday!!
Ok so this weekend…
My sister and her boyfriend were back home in New York from Salt Lake City for a quick part of the weekend. Our family and his family met them for a hibachi dinner and it was delicious and so much fun. I wish I took more pictures of the food catching with our mouths because my mom was so proud of herself for being one of the only ones to catch it. I have to go to hibachi more often because it really is a fun night to spend with family or friends.
Sunday was Christmas tree time and I was so happy to get to do this earlier in the month of December than with years past. For the past few years when I lived in LA, my roommate and I wouldn’t put up a tree in our apartment because we would both leave the week before Christmas to head back home. My parents would wait to put up a tree in New York because all of us were traveling so much and no one would be here to enjoy it. So this year I’m so excited to be around for the month of December and get to enjoy the tree for longer.
The tradition is that my dad, brother and grandpa always go out and get the two real, and preferably big, Christmas trees. They do not get Charlie Brown trees, as you can see with my snapchat 🙂
One of my favorite traditions is getting the tree on a Sunday and decorating it while watching football. It was perfect yesterday, the patriots game was on during the day and this was the first ornament to go on the tree. Did I mention I’m a pretty big diehard fan?! #FootballSeason
It was also pretty special to see Tom Brady get his 201 career win. I’m extremely grateful he’s been the quarterback of my football team for the last 15 years. I do wish I could have been at the game with my sister and some of my other family members because there is nothing like being at Gillette Stadium, but someone had to decorate the tree 😉
Last night I had the chance to go to a Frank Valli and the Four Seasons show with my grandparents. Sometimes I feel like I could have grown up in that era and been perfectly happy so I’m glad I went with them. The music was great and they even performed some Christmas songs. Overall I’m glad I got to spend time with my grandparents and watch them get excited over music that reminds them of their time as kids and young adults.
It got me in the Christmas spirit 🙂
Oh and there was a dessert buffet where we ate for dinner after. I was sold haha 🙂
I hope everyone has a great week!
Linking up with Biana today!
