Happy New Year Friends!
I hope you all had a happy and healthy New Years weekend. I’m linking up with my girl Biana today to recap my COLD, yet festive weekend. 2017 was amazing and I’m excited to see what this year will bring!!
J wanted to check out Lake Placid, New York so we thought why not go for New Years. I was super excited because I spent one week there in the 6th grade skiing with a friend, but other than that I haven’t explored the town.
On Saturday, we braved this crazy cold front the Northeast is having to ski Whiteface Mountain. This one photo was all I could muster. Our face masks were life savers.
We took a few breaks to enjoy a beer and the live music in the lodge.
On Sunday, we laid low in the morning because it was suppose to be -12. We managed to go ice skating for 30 mins on the oval rink that was part of the Olympic Park in 1980.
It was a beautiful view! I would loved to have skated longer, but the wind chill was no joke. #fashionisoutthewindowwhenitsnegative12
After skating, we wanted to watch our football teams last regular season games and Lake Placid Brewery is the best place to do that in town. Their maple chicken sandwich is DELICIOUS, I can’t rave about the sauce enough. Also, shout out to the Patriots for winning home field advantage through the playoffs.
Double shout out to the Buffalo Bills for ending their 17 year playoff drought. J didn’t even know what to do with himself over that win. I wish I had a picture of him popping the champagne bottle before midnight lol.
My guy and I after the ball dropped 🙂 Peace out 2017, you were amazing and I’m forever thankful!
Our view both mornings from the lodge of our of the hotel. I loved that all the holiday decorations were still up around Lake Placid.
On our way home yesterday, we stopped at Big Slide Brewery outside of Lake Placid and were throughly impressed by the whole experience. J had the pancakes with blueberry and lemon compote and I had the corn beef sandwich. Both were absolutely delicious!
This was my first ever hot toddy! It was delicious and a new favorite drink for the winter months.
We loved the atmosphere of this brewery so much that we can’t wait to go back one day soon!
I’m so excited for 2018. I have so many happy moments to look forward to including my sister and best friends weddings, trips with this guy and new business ventures.
I don’t like to put too much pressure on New Years resolutions because I like to look at things I want to work on as lifestyle changes. However, I like the feeling of a fresh start. Focus is the word I’m centering a lot of my resolutions on this year. We’ll see how it goes 😉
What are some of your New Years resolutions?!
