Weekending in New York

Happy Monday Friends!

I had a fabulous weekend showing friends from out of town my hometown area in the capital region of New York. It was so sweet of them to travel from Minneapolis, MN and Fargo, ND to check out what the Northeast has to offer in the summer time. Here is a brief overview of what we did!

Saratoga Race Track

We started off the weekend with a visit to the Saratoga Race Track. I’ve talked about this historic sporting venue before on my Friday Favorites. I can’t wait for these 6 weeks every summer when it’s time for all my betting, people watching and summer dress wearing days. It was a beautiful Friday to get dressed up, bet on some horses, walk around, and grab a drink 🙂

There are so many yummy dining options in the city of Saratoga and I wished I had taken a picture of my dinner at Cantina. It’s hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the area.

Lake George, NY

Next up was a day in Lake George, NY where we enjoyed the perfect Saturday boating with friends and then happy hour at The Sagamore and dinner at Cate’s!

The Sagamore

Cate's Bolton Landing, NY

I have blogged about Lake George before, covering my birthday weekend at The Sagamore, where to eat in LG and 3 moderate hike’s in the Adirondack region.

Lake George is gorgeous, it’s the perfect place for a family friendly vacation or a romantic getaway.  I’ve eaten at Cate’s for many years and it’s delicious every time, and that’s coming from an Italian ;-).

I was so excited to show my friends what the Capital Region of New York has to offer and I’m so thankful it turned out to be a great weekend 🙂
