Weekending: Soaking in Spring

04/24/2017 6 Comments

I’m back linking up with my girl Biana at B Loved Boston today for Weekending!

I did some recharging this weekend with friends and family in the beautiful spring sunshine. In a birthday post earlier this month I shared some new things about myself that I hadn’t shared here on Cupcake N Dreams. I enjoyed performing with some of my improv teams and putting my motorcycle license to good use this weekend 🙂

The Healthy Heart is one of my favorite breakfasts in the world! It has greek yogurt topped with cranberries, nuts and granola over a “skinny” waffle. If you are ever near Saratoga Springs, NY it is worth stopping by the Iron Roost. It’s an adorable cafe with homestyle breakfast and yummy coffee on a quaint street in an old small New York town.

When I first moved to Los Angeles I found a love for comedy improv and haven’t stopped following that passion since. I took classes at Amy Poehler’s Upright Citizens Brigade and at the Groundlings, where a lot of Saturday Night Live alumni got their start. I love getting on stage with teammates creating characters and worlds together for the enjoyment of an audience.

So since I have found my way back to New York I knew I had to continue this passion. I was invited to perform with an all girls group at the 2nd Albany Improv Fest on Saturday and it was a blast. It is awesome to collaborate with funny women!

Then later on in the night (which I didn’t take pics of oops!) I performed at the Mopco Theater in Schenectady, NY. Their style is more musical improv, which scares the life out of me, but that’s why I do it lol. If you ever need an idea for date night, google your local improv theater!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day so I figured I’d soak in the spring sunshine! I love using Ashley’s tumbler all spring and summer long! I know I could all year long but something about it just brings me joy in my two favorite seasons.

Two years ago I went out and got my motorcycle license, long story short I grew up in a power sports family. I mainly wanted to get it so I could drive this awesome ride, a Slingshot. Looks like the Bat-mobile right?! Though some states are changing it’s designation to an auto cycle, so you won’t need a motorcycle license to drive it.

Check out my insta story to see it in action!

It’s funny because Kristen Bell keeps instagramming  Dax Shepard’s and I want to tell her girls can have fun with it too! #Womenwhoride

The weekend ended with a birthday dinner at my grandparents’ house for my cousin that was in town. She is a stylists assistant in Los Angeles. Girlfriend can pull off anything!

My grandpa had pulled out some of these 1950s hats from an old friend.

I didn’t take any other pictures since I was soaking up the family time. We did the usual spaghetti dinner, home made birthday cake and game of cards. I love Sunday dinners at grandmas 🙂

Well that’s it for now, I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
