What’s Up Wednesday November 2016

Who’s ready for What’s Up Wednesday?!

It’s one of my favorite link ups so let’s get rolling:

WHAT I’M EATING THIS WEEK:

I haven’t been that great of taking pictures of what I’ve been making at home to eat. However, I know that tomorrow will be full of turkey, rolls (my favorite!), gravy and pumpkin pie and I can’t wait!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

I got the chance to work in my former elementary and middle school last week and it gave me all the nostalgic feelings about my childhood. There is something about going back to your old schools and remembering them feeling so big to you then, but now so small. I was reminiscing about some of the things I remember during those times.

WHAT I’M LOVING:

sephorabitebeauty

I’m obsessed with my bite beauty lipsticks and these holiday ones are fabulous 🙂 Great gift for the girlie girl in your life!

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO:

Hanging out with babies! Seriously I have so many new babies to snuggle these days and I’m loving it. One of my best high school girlfriends just had her first precious little girl and another one had one 3 months ago, so I’ve been soaking up all the baby time I can get. I’ve also been organizing for all my upcoming trips this winter which I can’t wait to share with you guys! I’ve also been working on a few movies in the New York area although there is no news to report on any big roles 🙂

I also catch a ride once or twice a year with my dad on his motorcycle and we waited until the last possible day of the season for a beautiful ride this past weekend! It was 60 degrees and sunny and we took a spin around the lake and the back roads of Saratoga. It’s one of my favorite things to do with him 🙂

WHAT I’M DREADING:

I love snow in December and since I’m living back on the east coast, I am excited for the snow to come. However, I am not excited about driving in it or having to brush off my car or walking around in it while I’m working in the city.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

copy-of-reykjavik

More travel posts! I’m working my way through my list of places to give tips and tidbits about each week. If you missed my post on Where to Eat in Reykjavik, Iceland yesterday, you can find it here.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

twin napkins

Twins! My cousin and her husband are welcoming the first set of twins in our family soon and we couldn’t be more excited 🙂 Seriously it’s going to be twice the fun right?! I can’t wait to see how they interact with each other and their sweet big sister 🙂img_1479

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

New England Patriots

If I’m not watching football or Dancing with the Stars during the week then you can find me watching reruns of my favorite shows on Netflix. I’ve also been catching as many movies as possible since this is the time of the year when all the Oscar movie contenders come out.

I finished Uninvited and Rising Strong this month, both were uplifting books about the process of handling rejection and failure. They sound heavy yet they were really positive and gave little ways to strengthen the relationships in your life. I found these two books from this link up.

Now I’m on to reading Elin Hilderbrand’s Winter Street series. If you love Elin Hilderbrand then you will love her Nantucket Christmas themed series. Also, her books would make great Christmas gifts for the reader in your life.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

girl power playlist

Tomorrow will start all the Christmas music but for most of this month it has been my girl power play list. Bey, Carrie, Kelly and Miranda on repeat 🙂 I think I got on this kick because Carrie was so fabulous when I saw her live a few weeks ago!

WHAT I’M WEARING:

carrie underwood outfit

black blouse, faux leather leggings and I did have a cream leather jacket to go over it too!

Ah I feel so bad that I have been slacking on my picture taking. I managed to take a picture of my outfit before the Carrie Underwood concert.

I also have a picture of yesterday’s outfit but mainly my uniform has consisted of button ups, jeans, leggings, sweaters and boots. Here are some other pieces:

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

A little shopping, a little family and friends time and some football watching. Pretty much an extension of the Thanksgiving holiday 🙂

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Christmas would be the easy answer but honestly next month is jam packed for me with big events! Two new babies are arriving (I can’t wait!), a 90th birthday celebration, a new years eve wedding, and some holiday get togethers. It’ll be one big celebration all month long 🙂

WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Did I say enough about babies?!

Bonus question this month: What’s your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?

My family doesn’t have any specific traditions when it comes to Thanksgiving, but if the dessert table does not having a Texas yum yum cake and pumpkin pie on it, I’ll be disappointed lol. My grandma’s Texas yum yum cake is a highlight for me.

Thanks for linking up with me today and I’ll be back early Friday with 5 gifts for the traveler in your life! Don’t miss it 🙂

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
