Happy Wednesday Friends!

This is the first edition of What’s Up Wednesday for 2018! If you are new around this space then let me tell you this is one of my favorite link ups. I like getting new outfit, food, tv and gadget recommendations from other bloggers sharing what they are up to!

WHAT I’M EATING THIS WEEK:

I’m not following a new diet trend. I prefer to work on small goals like trying to up my fish intake.  I cook a lot of shrimp at home so cooking another fish once a week is doable for me. J and I baked halibut last week and kept it real simple with the seasoning. I’m pinning more simple and fish centered recipes on my recipe pinterest board lately!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

The Sundance Film Festival. I was there last year at this time and now my brother is working it this year. His snapchats have me reminiscing hard about the beauty of Park City and all the fun the film festival was.

WHAT I’M LOVING:

My Air Innovations 2 gal humidifier. This might be my favorite thing of the season! I don’t have to fill it up every 5 seconds because it can hold 2 gals of water so I keep it running all day to help with the dry air. I sleep better and I do believe that a humidifier helps you stay healthy during this germs season. I have to thank my mom for this great find!

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO:

Getting outside as much as possible during these winter months by heading to events like The Ice Bar at The Sagamore and skiing in Lake Placid, NY.

Celebrating girlfriends getting married 😊

WHAT I’M DREADING:

It’s over now but last week I dreaded getting a cavity filled. I haven’t had one in over 10-15 years and I don’t know why I was so afraid of the process. I guess I won’t say how I like going to the dentist anymore.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Time blocking and making clear choices with my time. I read an article last year about a New York Times writer who documented every single second of what she did for a whole year (can you imagine?!) Her biggest takeaway was we all make choices with our time. That resonated with me and I’ve been using time blocking to focus on how I truly want to spend my time. So far this method has helped me a little bit with my job and blogging.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

The Super Bowl! I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since that heart stopping one and now my beloved Patriots are going for it again. I also can’t wait to see what Justin Timberlake has up his sleeve for half time!

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

Marvelous Mrs Maisel Amazon original TV Series

Last week, I shared that I finished watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon and how much I loved it. I studied with Rachel (Midge) during a summer program for acting after college and she was very sweet, so I’m so happy for her success!

I thought this was the perfect book to start the new year off with. Like every woman in America, I have seen the word Hygge pop up everywhere for the past year. I was happy to find out it had everything to do with being cozy, making your home cozy, your meals and your relationships all cozy. If you are unfamiliar with the term than I suggest this quick read that goes over what hygge is and how to achieve it every day. It’s been helpful to put this into practice during this cold winter season!

I bought this book last year and skimmed it for recipes and yoga flows (even though I decided I like following videos more than pictures of yoga poses). I thought it would be a good book to read in the new year and I’m so glad I did. Hilara is a yoga studio owner and mother to little ones with Alec Baldwin who writes about her story of overcoming injuries by pushing herself to hard while pursuing a dance career. Since, I’m a fan of practicing meditation, I found her book helpful in that it expanded on breathing techniques and little things you can do through out your day to bring balance and peace. It seems a lot of us out there are seeking a calm that is missing from our daily lives. I highly recommend this book if you are looking to fix that!

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

On repeat again lately. I like listening to her voice when I’m driving or cleaning. Otherwise, I’m listening to sports talk radio for all my Patriots news.

WHAT I’M WEARING:

I forgot to share this skirt from Loft that I wore on Christmas. I plan on wearing it again for another event this winter. It was so comfortable and I like the subtle sparkles.

These leggings are on repeat. I even bought a second pair.

These items have been on heavy rotation this month!

I’m also so excited about this knot in the front shirt!

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

Potentially this!!

My weekend is still up in the air. Without getting into much I may pop up at the Super Bowl or watch it at one of my family parties!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

The Super Bowl! Valentine’s Day! Birthday’s, baby shower’s and more! Each month this year is going to get crazier and crazier 😆

WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

This month had me thinking about where I’m headed this year. I know it’ll go by like that. I’m excited to explore some new places. I’m excited to start on some new journeys as well. #ChooseYourOwnPath

Thanks for following along today, see you Friday!!

Is it bad that I barely remembered the Super Bowl?! Ack. I’m so out of it haha I love that you’re adding a lot of fish to your diet – it’s such a healthy, simple change!

Yes! It’s always a lighter option than ground beef which is a nice change.

We’ve been making more fish lately too, mainly because baby girl LOVES it!! And it’s usually pretty easy–your meal sounds great!
Do you find that the humidifier you have gets dirty easily? We have a Vicks one for Ella’s room and it builds up crap inside of it if you don’t wash it out every night (and who’s got time for that???)

I know WHO does have time for that. I think the air innovations works better because they have minerals in the dispenser part that don’t let the slime build up. That’s so good that Ella likes fish!

I was at a class and the instructor had us account for every hour of our day and I was embarrassed at how much time I waste!

I loosely kept track one day after reading that and was like whoa! Getting sidetracked was my main issue.
