Is it the end of June already?! Nooo, say it ain’t so 🙁 This is my favorite time of the year and it’s going so fast!
WHAT I’M EATING THIS WEEK:
I’ve been eating a lot of summer party food due to graduations, birthdays and get togethers. To balance it I’ve been eating salads during the week, like my FAVORITE from Sweetgreen, their kale caesar salad and a sesonal fav, the mexican corn elote bowl.
Not so balanced is my love for ice cream and sweet treats around the world. Look for a new #DessertFirst post from NYC next week!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Summer concerts from last year…
A lot of my favorite groups toured last summer and I wish more of them were this summer. Going to an outdoor concert is one of my favorite summer activities 🙂
WHAT I’M LOVING:
I love a good lipstick so it was not a surprise to me that I like Lipsense. The fact that the color doesn’t rub off just boggles my mind. I can’t wait to get different colors.
WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO:
Meditating! In case you missed my post on Friday, I recently visited Inscape in NYC, which is a studio that offers meditation and relaxation classes. I’m going to do a full post on my experience with them in the upcoming weeks.
WHAT I’M DREADING:
Luckily nothing at the moment!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Skillshare-It’s an online learning community where you can hone skills in different areas that you already have or develop new ones. There is a database with over 16,000 classes from photography to programing your own mobile app to how to knit. I wanted to work on my writing skills so I’ve “taken” a few classes in that topic. It’s great because you can choose when you want to take a class on your own time and they show you the time commitment ahead of time. You can also pause the class if you need to and come back at a different point. You can get a month free with this link to check out some of the classes!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
My garden! The mint is growing like a weed and the tomatoes are starting to flower. I can’t wait to keep picking yummy basil, mint and tomatoes.
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Along The Infinite Sea– I mentioned this book last month because I had begun reading it, but I hadn’t gotten past the first 1/3 of the book due to being busy. Well once I started it again, I couldn’t put it down. The book jumps back and forth between two women (Annabelle & Pepper) and how their lives have unfolded in different time periods in Europe and the US. I LOVED Annabelle’s story more, although I think it’s due to the fact that she has more chapters devoted to her. I saw online that this book is part of a series about Pepper and her sisters so now it makes more sense to me why her story was a little vague. Annabelle’s love story was beautiful and tough and I’m still thinking about it today.
Pretty Little Liars– I’m so sad last night was the end of it all. I mean I’ve been saying for awhile that it needed to end. However, I always feel a little sad when a favorite TV show is over for good. I was able to work on Pretty Little Liars a few times, both on and off screen, when I lived in LA so the show holds a special place in my heart <3
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Summer tunes! I love blasting summer jams whether I’m at the lake, driving, working out or traveling during these months.
WHAT I’M WEARING:
Then I’m probably wearing a dress (loft, sold out) with heels…
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
Celebrating one of my favorite holidays all weekend long, the 4th of July! Bring on the red, white and blue, the music, the lake, the hotdogs and sangria. I don’t know what it is about this holiday, but it just makes me so happy.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
I can’t believe how quickly this time comes around. Every year I go on vacation with my mom’s whole side of the family (30+ people now) to Newport, RI.
Check out my prior post on where to eat in and around Newport if you are headed there this summer.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
I attended the one and only summer wedding I have this past weekend. It was for one of my high school guy friends that I studied abroad in Australia with, who married a great girl. It was fun to dance the night away with my bff, Mallory!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE JULY 4TH TRADITION?
Hanging out at the lake and watching the fireworks.
Can’t wait to read what everyone has been up too! See you Friday!
