What’s Up Wednesday May 2017

Happy Wednesday! Linking up with Shay for What’s Up Wednesday. Let’s get to it..

WHAT I’M EATING THIS WEEK:

I’ve been slacking on my food taking pictures lately but my aunt brought this delicious salad to the lake this weekend. It’s a spinach pasta salad with teriyaki dressing. It would make a great lunch option!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Around this time every year I start to reminiscing about my Contiki trip around Europe after I graduation college.

My cousin just went on a road trip around the US after she graduated last week and her snapchats reminded me of when my sister and I drove from New York to LA.

Ah wanderlust…

WHAT I’M LOVING:

I love the look of fresh flowers inside and outside of a home. I’m enjoying finding different flowers and herbs to plant and hopefully keeping them alive through the summer 😉

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO:

My first TBEX inspired me to travel local. I’ve been working on some trips within a 300 mile radius to write about to inspire those in the Northeast to travel local this summer.

I’ve also been exploring “my backyard” or those areas around where I current live. If you are making a list of fun things to do this summer, make sure you add those “touristy” things around your area that you say you’ll get to and follow through this summer!

WHAT I’M DREADING:

Does anyone else follow the farmer’s almanac? It may be weird that I pay attention to it but it’s calling for  a rainy and cooler summer. It’s usually right and that’s what I’m dreading. It’s been cooler than normal in the Northeast lately and we’ve had tons of rain. I’m hoping that changes so we can enjoy summer to the fullest.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Yoga and my posture

I know I’ve mentioned her before, but I’ve become a huge fan of Yoga by Candace . Her routines are simple and effective, plus I find her voice calming, not annoying. It’s been a solid 10 years since I regularly practiced ballet and I’ve noticed my posture has suffered. It’s something I want to be on top of now instead of 20 years from now. I also hold all my tension in my neck and shoulders and practicing yoga has helped release some of that.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

All the summer tv shows! I’ll get to what I’m currently watching in the next question, but I can’t wait for House of Cards, Game of Thrones, and the end of Pretty Little Liars.

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

I’ve been in Stars Hollow a lot lately, like every night before I fall asleep. It’s taking me awhile to get through all the seasons but I don’t mind. I don’t want it to end 🙁

I’m so excited the House of Cards new season dropped yesterday!

Dancing With the Stars was a roller coaster this season with all the ridiculousness that was great dancers placing lower in the competition (cough, cough Heather) I’ve watched almost every season and I can’t remember one where I genuinely liked all 3 finalists though. Normani DEFINITELY should have won, but I didn’t mind Rashad winning. I’m happy for Emma since she’s a great PRO and came up with some beautiful choreography for him this season.  I also really liked watching David.

I’ve been reading Along the Infinite Sea. I’m enjoying following these characters and excited to see how they are connected.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

These spotify lists are on repeat:

Girl power running list (perfect for cardio or HIIT workouts)

Modern Dance Contemporary-I’ve been  listening to for ballet workouts wit her Lucy Read!

 WHAT I’M WEARING:

I talked about my anthro pattern purchases earlier in the month.

I wore the top during my TBEX weekend.

These TOMS are super comfortable!

I love this skirt, it’s the only LuLaRoe piece I own.

Mother’s day was cool, so I wore this top (similar and on sale!) and my new white jeans.

This top is my go to off-the-shoulder top. I took this picture quick before Brewfest so the lighting is off. I’m wearing these jeans, necklace and shoes. This is a go to outfit since it’s comfortable to walk around in all day, yet I still feel dressed up.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

I’m not sure yet, could be traveling, could be staying local. Waiting on a few things to fall into place.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Oh my goodness if you saw this post this morning then you were probably like girl it’s May not June. I swear this year is flying by and I don’t even remember what month comes next haha.

As far as what I’m looking forward to..a whole lot of pool and lake days. Crossing my fingers we actually get some nice weather in New York.

Boat House in Lake George

Father's Day Sunset The Lake

Summer colors, blue green white

WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Can’t think of anything else right now!

What is your Favorite Vacation Spot?

Definitely Newport, RI with the whole family, 28 years and counting. A close second would be the Bahamas 😉

Whew, can’t wait to read what’s up with everyone, especially their favorite vacation spots!

That salad is one of my favorites – I have been craving it and plan on making it next week for some lunches! And family vacations are the best. Sounds like RI is what MI is to me!

I’m so excited that you’re watching Gilmore Girls! I highly recommend stretching it out as much as possible! I just finished it and I miss it so much! I’m considering starting the series all over again just so I can go back to Stars Hallow!
